Italian Job Tour 09
Three Scenes You Will Need a Car For
Three locations sit well outside the walking route — one in the far north of the city, one in the centre but awkward to reach on foot, and one in the far south. Unless you have your own car, a taxi is the sensible way to pick them off.
Completists will want all three. If you only have time for one, make it the sewer exit: it is the single best piece of sleight of hand in the whole film.

Corso Giulio Cesare runs from Piazza della Repubblica out towards the airport road. Head north until you cross the Stura di Lanzo. As soon as you do you will see a roundabout: take the very first exit, into a small car park in front of a FIAT dealership, and stop there.
Walk down to the river. This stretch was used immediately after the Minis crossed the weir in the city centre.
From the car park, walk up the Lungo Stura Lazio with the dealership on your right. Just as the building ends is where the Minis hid among all the other Minis.
The scene has changed a good deal on the ground, but the skyline confirms it as the exact spot.

With his job done, Professor Peach was last seen barging his way onto a tram past a large and unimpressed woman — the move that led directly to his arrest. It was filmed on the corner by the entrance to the park.
If you have the DVD you will have seen that wonderful missing scene of the Minis sliding about on the ice. It was filmed inside the Torino Esposizioni building here.

The Minis went into the sewers in Coventry and came out of them in Turin. A neat trick, and nobody notices.
It was here that one of the directors pulled down the iron gate after the Minis had escaped, and the police car went into the river.
To find it, take Corso Unione Sovietica south. Just before you reach the A55 Tangenziale, the ring road, there is a bridge over the Sangone. The exit is directly below the bridge.
