In early 2002, my wife Urszula and I made a life-changing decision. Tired of the pace and relentless pressures of life in the UK, we chose not just a change of address, but a complete change of lifestyle. We left our small cottage just south of the city of Bath, packed everything we owned into a van, and, together with our six-year-old son, drove the 1,400 km to Piemonte — without hesitation and without ever looking back - not even for a second.
Our first Italian home was a modest apartment in vibrant Torino. While it introduced us to life in Italy, we quickly realised we were longing for peace, space, and nature. That search eventually led us to where we live today: the beautiful countryside of Roero, just 40 minutes south-east of Turin and 25 minutes north of Alba.
Our village in Roero We have now lived in the same home for 22 years. The area is extraordinary — friendly people, rolling hills, vineyards, and ever-present views of the Alps continue to inspire us every day. We feel perfectly placed, both geographically and emotionally.
Having made this journey myself, I understand what it means to relocate, to start again, and to put down roots in a new country. That experience lies at the heart of how I work: with care, honesty, empathy, and a genuine commitment to putting people first.
The process of buying our own home was far from straightforward. The local agency we worked with offered very little guidance, minimal transparency, and few explanations. Even the simplest steps felt unnecessarily complicated — and often they were. Without the support of a trusted local friend, completing the purchase would have been impossible.
That experience stayed with me and ultimately shaped the way I work today.
Our home is not only where we live, but also where we create. My office and studio are here, and there is always a new project underway. Our next venture is converting the old hayloft into a dedicated studio for video production and music — I’ve always loved guitars.
I’ve had a camera in my hand since I was 8 years old. An uncle I greatly admired was a photographer for the BBC, and from an early age I wanted to follow in his footsteps. I never made it to the BBC, but over the years I’ve had the privilege of working with internationally recognised names such as Liz Mitchell (Boney M), Peter Gabriel, Chris Anderson (TEDx), and many others.
Richard Edwards — Langhe Property My professional background includes photography, graphic design, website design, and public speaking. More recently, I’ve also embraced AI imaging, which I believe has, when used correctly, an exciting and valuable future within real estate marketing.
This combination of creative experience, clear communication, and real-life property knowledge allows me to guide people with empathy, precision, and honesty.
My consultancy work has been featured in newspapers, magazines, and television across the UK, the United States, and Canada.

I am deeply passionate about what I do. Helping people find the right home in Piemonte gives me almost as much satisfaction as it gives them. I enjoy sharing stories, but above all, I value meeting people. Over the years, my work has connected me with individuals and families from all over the world.
When families tell me, "We want to make a change", I understand exactly what they mean. My family and I made that leap ourselves, and we know both the challenges and the rewards that come with it.
I am here to guide and support you in taking that brave step and turning a dream into reality.
The people I meet are often thoughtful, determined, and resilient. Simply considering such a move already says a great deal about who you are. I look forward to hearing your story and exploring together what may be possible.
Urszula Edwards I have been married for 34 years. My wife, Urszula, is Polish, and we met at the Berlin Wall in 1990 — just six months after the fall of communism. It was a chance meeting during an extraordinary moment in history, in one of the most vibrant cities in the world.
Urszula is an essential part of everything we do, and we support each other completely.
Our son, Alex, was six years old when we moved to Italy. Like many children, his first year at school was challenging, but he adapted, persevered, and eventually studied video production and graphic design. Today he works as a programmer and remains a great support to me — especially when technology challenges this Generation X dinosaur!
My passions include guitars, music, cars - driving & mechanics, travel, photography, good food, Italy..
