When the Autumn Leaves Fall in Piedmont: A Property Market Update
1 October 2022
Here we are — the start of Autumn 2022. The weather is still lovely here in Piedmont, but in about 20 hours I’ll be climbing into the car with my beautiful wife and heading back to the UK… to the rain and cold. It’s been three years since we’ve been back. Covid is over, and I’m officially out of excuses.
I don’t really like going back. Italy is our home now — 20 years here and counting. But we intend to make the best of it: catch up with some old friends, reconnect with a few long-lost relatives… and eat plenty of Indian food!
2022 So Far
Wow, what a year it’s been. We’ve seen busy years in the Piedmont real estate market before, but nothing quite like this. I only finally managed to take some proper time off last month with a short trip to the Dolomites — although not without upsetting a few people who wanted my attention while I was away.
I apologise, but it was either that or ending up in a home for exhausted people who simply couldn’t say “no”.
Changes!
There are some exciting changes coming with Langhe Property. We’re streamlining things a little and getting serious again about making videos. I really hope you’ll enjoy our YouTube content, learn something from it, and hopefully have a few laughs along the way.
I’ll also have some help from someone I genuinely think is one of the best video makers in the region — although I’ll leave you to judge that for yourselves.
Right now, we’re gathering all the right equipment, and I’ve also got an exciting new “prop” that I’ve been working on for the past couple of months. I’m dying to introduce it, but for now… you’ll have to wait.
And thank you so much for all the likes, subscribers, and comments on my YouTube channel. It really is appreciated.
I’m also shifting my main focus back to the Langhe area, so expect to see a lot more houses in and around Barolo. There will also be some subtle but useful improvements to the website and app to make everything easier to use.
News & Media
We’ve had quite a bit of media attention recently. This month I’ll be appearing on UK TV — A Place in the Sun — and I’ve also just done an interview with The Wall Street Journal. That piece should be completed in the next couple of weeks. They’re also interviewing some of my clients about their experiences buying property here.
But for now, I’m closed until around the 10th of October. I really need this time to see my family, so forgive me if I can’t be here to attend to your needs. I hope you’ll come back very soon.
It’s an incredibly exciting time here in Piedmont. Never before have so many houses been sold in the Langhe, Roero, and Monferrato areas. Let me know what you’re looking for and stay in touch. I get inundated with enquiries, so let me know you’re serious — and we’ll find exactly what you’re looking for.
