We've been working in the Langhe area for more than 15 years now so know the region and the property market as well as, if not better than most. The huge advantage we have over local agencies (run by local people) is we fully understand what 'foreign' buyers need. You're not just looking for a nice house but will need a lot of support and constant explanations.
Let's have a quick look at some important matters, so you can be more confident and fulfil that dream of buying a home here.
Where to buy
Some big money is being spent in the area by wealthy wine lovers and investors so prices can be high. If you want something in the Barolo area - Monforte, Barolo, La Morra, etc - that's not going to be easy. Widen your search! The area around Mango, for example, is fantastic and is just 15-20 minutes from the Barolo area. Prices are lower and there are fantastic houses for sale. Ask us and we will show you! In fact, anything around 20 minutes from the Barolo area is good.
How much to pay
Now, because there have been some crazy prices paid some sellers think their property is worth a lot more than it is because of not understanding why someone paid a lot for a particular thing. For example, an American paid something like €66m (according to reports) for a Barolo winery. That's a crazy amount of money but it's a beautiful business with generations of history and a good name. It was worth as much as someone wanted to pay. But a simple farmhouse or villa...? It doesn't have that rarity so will never fetch silly money but it doesn't stop some people trying.
So how do we work around this? We have to be very good negotiators. We negotiate like our life depends on it and we're proud to say we're really good at it. If you see a house on our Website that you like but think it's overpriced we're always happy to try to get a realistic price. Stop dreaming, we're not going to get something for nothing but we should be able to get a more realistic price. Forget other agencies, we often get offered incentives from owners to get a higher price and so do they. We aren't tempted but we have to sell for what's realistic.
Support
You need a ton of support when you buy and like anywhere else the waters are full of sharks. We work with the best. If we couldn't we'd quit this work and do something else. We're not interested in making money from every angle, we make the sale and leave you to work with guys we can highly recommend - builders, architects, caretakers, etc.

Is it the right time to buy?
Oh, yes! The area is exploding. Already you should be regretting you didn't buy sooner like we kept telling you but at the moment there are still great houses around. We really struggle to find good houses as we don't want to waste your time or ours with crap. Our competitor's Websites are full of houses we know well that are massively overpriced or just no good. Stop wasting your time.
Know what you want
We can't be tour guides, it's not what we do. Stick to what you want with the idea of some compromises. Trust us! If we say house won't suit your needs we've understood your brief well and don't want to waste your time. We want you to find your dream house with ease!
In conclusion
Ask questions, do research, don't wait too long!
