New name - same objective

Like all good things, Piemonte Property started as a solution to a problem. We’d lived in Italy for two years, in the city of Torino. We’d got tired of it, we aren’t really city people. Living in an apartment, the traffic chaos, wafting cigarette smoke from the neighbours, the pollution and the lack of places for our 8 year old son to play was getting to us in a bad way. It was time to move out.

Goodbye Torino!

We’d been introduced to the Langhe a couple of years earlier by a friend of ours in Torino whose roots were in Treiso, just outside of Alba. So, when we decided to get out of the city it was a good place to start looking. To cut a long story short we found a house in the Langhe-Roero, packed up a van and never looked back. But the whole process of buying was made difficult. The local estate agent we bought through was less than honest, awkward, disorganised and up to tricks that to this day we still don’t understand. It got me thinking - if ‘foreigners’ want to buy here, how is it possible? We had help from trusted friends and it was hard! A problem needed a solution.

..the whole process of buying was difficult.

Some agents were offering services to buyers from outside of Italy but their Websites were terrible, with poor descriptions and small blurry photos and not everyone’s reputation was as white as the snow on the mountains that surround us. It seemed we wouldn’t have to do too much be so much better. It was a lot of hard work and a steep learning curve but apart from the low period around 2009-10 we’ve stuck with it. Despite its challenges we continue to find buyers beautiful homes.

Who are you?

We were well aware that there were a few other businesses with similar names but finally, now in 2015, we’ve decided to take the plunge and change our name so there’s less confusion. The Website was due for a major overhaul so now was as good a time as any. Also, that little boy, Alex, that needed a place to ride his bike in Torino is now a licensed Italian real estate agent so we’re totally independent. We’ll see the sale through from beginning to end and only work with people we trust.

..Alex is a licensed Italian real estate agent so we’re totally independent

We wanted to do something special with the website so went for a modern, clean design (something we’ve always been known for as my previous business was Web design), lots of information, videos and giving as much information as we can about properties we have. We also wanted a simpler domain name so felt Langhe.Property was perfect.

The past and the future - the same.

Our goal has always been to make the process of buying as simple as possible - from the moment you find us on the Internet to when you move into your dream home in this outstanding area we love. We feel we’ve always strived hard to achieve that but things change and we want to change with it. So, please enjoy our new Website. We’d love to hear your comments and suggestions on how we can improve even more. And if you’re thinking about buying a house in the area, remember - Langhe Property!
